about the blog

Hello, and welcome to my little corner of the internet. I am a writer, an artist, and a crafter all rolled up and kneaded together, glazed with the quintessence of my personality and soul, and baked with the warmth and love of God into the person that I am today. My art, my writing, and my life are all very intricately woven together with my spirituals beliefs in Catholicism.

I'm a United States citizen, born and raised (though both sides of my family have recent members of the past who immigrated here from other countries - English and Irish on one side, and French-Canadian on the other). Within my French-Canadian ancestry, I have Native ancestry with the Algonquin tribe. Like many who live in the United States, I have found that these ancestral pieces of my life and heritage have had a huge impact on who I was growing up, and who I am now.

In 2018 I made a big life change and decided to try work as an independent artist, working with art and hand-made crafts, and also working on strengthening and improving myself as a writer. You can find links to my website, my shop fronts at RedBubble and Fine Art America, and my social media on my LinkTree list, and in this blog I share my writing.

My overall dreams are just as far-reaching as anyone's, but my dreams for this blog are a bit easier to pin down. Practically, I want to use this blog as a way to write frequently, to work on improving my skills and bettering myself as a writer. Moreover, I want to use this as a place to share my writing - non-fiction, some poetry, and even perhaps some regular fiction from time to time. I also want to share my story, at least the parts that I feel might help others navigate their own story.

Kwayakotàge means "to learn the true story" in Algonquin.* Sharing my story means sharing what I have learned, and will continue to learn, to be the true story - God's story. I am a Christian - specifically a Catholic, though I did not start out that way, and years ago would never have imagined that to be so. My hope is that by sharing my own story, as I work through my own experiences past and present, I will help others find the Truth as well. I do not know everything, nor will I ever claim to, but I hope that as I continue on this journey you might find some joy in following along with me.
